Low Voltage Senior Authorised Person

Location: Various locations across the Severn Trent Water region

Salary: Flexible dependant on experience
This job is also available on a fixed term contract basis, with a negotiable day rate


Severn Trent Water is one of the UK's leading water and wastewater companies, providing essential services to over 8 million customers across the Midlands and into north and mid-Wales. As part of our AMP 7 Framework, we are seeking a highly experienced Low Voltage Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join our team.

As a Low Voltage Senior Authorised Person, you will be responsible for managing the electrical safety of our assets and networks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. You will have overall responsibility for the safe operation, maintenance and modification of low voltage electrical systems, ensuring that they meet all relevant health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Acting as a Senior Authorised Person for Low Voltage, taking responsibility for the safe operation, maintenance and modification of low voltage electrical systems.
Developing and implementing safe systems of work and ensuring that they are adhered to by all relevant personnel.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant standards, regulations and company policies.
Undertaking risk assessments and ensuring that appropriate control measures are in place to manage any identified risks.
Providing technical support and guidance to other team members and contractors.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation, including the preparation of reports and presentations for management and clients.
Leading and managing the work of others, including coaching and mentoring team members to improve their skills and performance.

Key Requirements:

Significant experience as a Low Voltage Senior Authorised Person in the water industry.
Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and standards, including CDM Regulations and BS7671.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills, with experience of managing teams and contractors.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in complex situations.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Full UK driving licence.
