Job description

Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Design)
£35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Our client has an urgent requirement for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer. You will be working with a senior engineer to develop schemes from concept stage through to detailed tender packages and then following the project through the construction stage, liaising with contractors and other design team members as required. You will undertake feasibility studies, options appraisals, condition surveys and preparation of reports.

Ideal candidate (please only apply if);
You have experience in Design, Electrical and Building Services
You have a working knowledge of current UK standards and regulations
You have 4+ years' experience relative to all stated above

Undertake the detailed design of engineering building services within agreed deadlines, following initial discussion of outline scheme with design team manager.
Carry out all the necessary detailed calculations to determine the size of suitable cables, switchgear, equipment, lighting layouts, alarms, communications, lightning protection, audio, controls and other systems.
Consider the integration of renewable technologies and energy conservation into designs at all stages.
Include the selection of equipment, to obtain initial manufacturer's quotations and
selections, and prepare schedules for tender.
Prepare schematic layouts with design information to assist the final commissioning of
the systems.
Prepare of layout drawings in CAD.
Check drawings to ensure that they are up to the required standard before issue.
Carry out site visits to check on quality of workmanship and compliance with specification and standards.
Contribute to implementation of building and site surveys and document the results.
Consider health and safety aspects of designs.
Assist in with the provision of appropriate training and instruction to all staff within the
Develop and maintain client relationships.

Skills and Qualifications:
Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCad LT, Hevacomp, Relux and Dialux.
A working knowledge of current relevant legislation including but not limited to: Building
Regulations, British and European Standards, Health and Safety.
Ability to project a positive image to clients, professionals and others in the industry.
Knowledge of Revit and TAS
Relevant HND / Diploma / Degree
Licentiate Membership of CIBSE or IET
Working towards Membership of IET, ACIBSE or similar technical institute would be
CSCS Card holder
