Regional Health, Safety & Environment Manager - Derby/Redditch - manufacturing - £40k-£60k - exciting opportunity to join a major, multinational corporation with operations in over 20 countries and over £5bn in revenue.

Overall Purpose / Scope of Position
The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will provide expertise, advice and support to the business and business teams to ensure continued compliance with all statutory Health, Safety and Environment duties. In order to maintain compliance the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will implement, guide and educate on best practice systems and procedures and promote the health, safety and well-being of all employees, as well as having responsibility for management/mentoring of an HSE Assistant.

Key Result Areas:-
* Work with the UK HSE team and the plant management team for the development, implementation, and compliance/adherence to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures for the business
* Monitor, analyse and report on the effectiveness of health, safety and environmental policies, processes and procedures, providing recommendations for change/improvements as necessary and take a hands on lead approach where necessary.
* Work with the senior management team to ensure compliance with legal and corporate health, safety and environment standards.
* Manage the site HS&E risk assessment process and implement and educate use of the process
* Lead the business in achieving ISO 18001 conformance standard.
* Contribute to the UK Ergonomic Improvement project
* Ensure maintenance of ISO 14001 to the required conformance standards.
* Document and maintain all aspects of the management system for health, safety and environmental
* Provide support and expertise to the business in projects and/or activities that have an impact on employee health and safety and/or the environment
* Conduct and participate in externally and internally-led site audits for HS&E with the responsibility for preparing action plans and following through on plan actions to close out.
* Manage and audit HS&E records for the business to ensure they meet the requirements for statutory compliance, standard conformance and insurance liabilities.
* Manage the HS&E Committee, and ensure the committee encourages and promotes best practices activities and initiatives
* Manage the First Aider provision and any promotional activities and initiatives
* Manage statutory aspects of Occupational Health Nurse/Services to promote and maintain employee well-being
* Work with the site service providers to ensure compliance and focus on the effective management of and the handling and disposal of waste and promote the potential for recycling
* Foster a safe and healthful work environment working with all levels in a positive and constructive manner to encourage interest in safety and to work with managers in maintaining standards whilst recognising the need to balance financial resources.
* Use all operational and plant meetings to promote and implement Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and improvement

* NEBOSH Diploma qualified or equivalent
* Standards worked to - HSE, TS16949, BOS, 14001, 18001

Job Skills & Experience:-
* Excellent communication skills
* Computer literate
* Desire to create a world class manufacturing facility
* Experience in HSE within manufacuring with an emphasis on policy and procedure development, implementation and control
* NEBOSH Diploma, CIEH, DipSM/HSE or NVQ5
* Applied Working knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
* Valid membership in IOSH - Grad or Chartered
* Applied knowledge of ISO 18001
