Document controller
30 hours a week flexible on working pattern.
Location: Derby Bamford

We are working on behalf of a tier 1 water contractor who a looking for a document controller based in Derby.
Responsibilities:

Uploading and Management of Documents: The primary responsibility is to manage and upload documents within the Electronic Document Management System (eDMS) following best practice standards.

Championing Document Management: Act as an advocate for document management processes and systems within the project environment.

Review and Upload Site Documents: Review, manage, and upload documents located on project sites.

Legal and Contract Compliance: Understand and adhere to legal, contract, and Severn Trent document management requirements.

Efficient Enquiries Handling: Deal with inquiries efficiently and effectively, which likely includes responding to queries related to document management.

Additional Project Activities: Carry out other project-related and non-project-related activities as required.

Document Production: Assist in the production and supply of electronic and hard copy documents as needed.

Training: Promote training to operational teams and suppliers in the use of the eDMS (SharePoint) and related IT systems.

Records Maintenance: Provide assurance to Senior Document Controllers by ensuring that all records are maintained according to expectations and available for internal and external audits in a timely manner.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement areas for improvement and share best practices with the team.

Qualifications/Skills:

Proven Document Control Experience: Demonstrated experience in a document control function is required.

IT Competence: High level of competence in the use of Microsoft Office suite and other IT systems.

Industry Experience: Several years experience in a similar role in the construction or related industry.

Organizational Skills: Highly organized with an attention to detail, ability to plan and prioritize workload, and work effectively to deadlines.

Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with peers and senior engineers, both verbally and in writing.

Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Drivers License: A full UK driving license and the ability to travel within the Severn Trent region.

Software Knowledge: Experience in the use of Business Collaborator, SharePoint, and/or the ability to quickly learn and problem-solve with software.
