A fantastic opportunity has arrived for an experienced construction director to secure a rewarding career move.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Construction Director will be expected to make a significant contribution to ensure the successful completion of every project.

You will report to the Managing Director and work closely with the Development Team, Design, Sales and Marketing. You will be responsible for efficiently helping to plan, organise and support the development, construction and refurbishment process of Care Homes and Hotels.

You will be able to demonstrate a proven experience of leading site delivery teams in the construction industry.

Main duties:

- Successfully manage internal and external teams including construction consultants, architects and contractors through attending client meetings, project meetings both internal and on site and dealing with associated tasks and issues;
- Project managing multiple aspects of construction delivery;
- Demonstrate continuous improvement, value for money, effective project management and delivery to help drive the business for significant growth;
- Setting high standards in setting mile stones, project monitoring, risk management, issues log and reporting;
- In depth knowledge of compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures particularly within the construction phase.

The Successful Applicant.

Ideal candidate:
- Degree level or above, MCIOB or MRICS essential;
- Successful track record in project managing high profile developments
- Strong knowledge of construction process, building code, and safety codes with excellent experience of value engineering;
- Strong technical knowledge of all construction techniques and methodologies;
- Comprehensive understanding of project management principles and risk analysis skills;
- Effective negotiation, decision making, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- Ability to successfully lead internal and external teams successfully;
- Proficient in reading drawings, specifications and knowledge of construction process;
- Proven risk assessment, monitoring and control skills with an understanding of delivering projects of scale within agreed programmes;
- Ability to deal with stressful situations; work calmly and maturely when under pressure.
