Position: Design Coordinator
Location: Scotland
Salary: £50,000 per annum plus excellent additional benefits including company car, pension, private medical cover and 24 days holiday and more

A respected and highly regarded Main Contractor is seeking to appoint an experienced Design Coordinator to a long term marine project located in Scotland.

As the Design Coordinator, you will be leading and managing design activities with Permanent Works Designers and providing support to the Design Manager. You will ensure that the design deliverables meet the construction and design programme, engaging with the CAT III checkers.

Main duties:

  • Coordination of design activities related to a specific Discipline including interfaces to other Disciplines as appropriate
  • Monitoring of design activities carried out by the Design Consultant within a specific Discipline and associated checking activities to ensure compliance with the Contract programme
  • Ensuring that Permanent Works design within a specific Discipline is carried out in compliance with the requirements of the Contract and the requirements of the Contractor
  • Coordination of design with the Design Consultant(s), Checker, Road Safety Auditor, 3rd Party Consultation Coordinators and Dragados engineering and construction Departments as necessary in relation to a specific Discipline
  • Review of design prior to submission for review to checkers, 3rd parties and/or the Client
  • Ensuring that Design Certificates, Design Checking Certificates, Road Safety Audit Certificates and Consultation Certificates are provided and included in submission packages to the Client (Project Manager) as necessary
  • Ensuring that changes proposed by the construction team or identified by the Designers or Engineering team are assessed and recorded under the appropriate procedures previously to a change instruction
  • Attendance to meetings with Designers, Checkers, Client, 3rd parties, etc and preparation of minutes for such meetings as required.

Due to the technically challenging nature of this role, it is anticipated that you will meet the following criteria:


-Be educated to Degree or Masters Level (or equivalent)
-Hold previous experience on large civils projects PREFERENCE: Marine/Port/Dredging works
-Hold relevant vocational qualifications such as CSCS Card, SMSTS etc
