My client is an established supplier of specialist engineering services on nuclear projects nationally,


Role
My client are looking for a Northwest based Cost Engineer, Working from home 3 days per week. 2 days in Preston office

The role will be a Cost Engineer who will deal with the value analysis and cost controls of the project, managing the costs from the early design plans, through to contract completion.

Key Responsibilities

= Responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of cost reports and associated documents.
= Ensuring corporate systems are up to date and an accurate reflection of the project
= Preparation of Client specific monthly reports
= Contribute to progress meetings, as required, in support of the Project Manager.
= Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned financial position with the Project Plan.
= Monitoring KPIs as necessary
= Risk & opportunity management relative to the cost engineering role
= Project set up, close out and reconciliations.
= Assist in the establishment and maintenance of the project cost reporting system and procedures.
= Application of project controls processes and systems utilization
= Project cost forecasting
= Ensuring correct cost allocation / Revenue and gross margin monitoring
= Compensation Events
= Assist the Project with client invoices for progress payments, final payments, and release of retentions
= Generating and reporting regular project financial data such as spend profiles, budgeted and earned values, forecasts, completion costs etc

The Candidate

NEC 3 Option C or E experience
Degree qualified (accredited by RICS)
Proficient in Excel
Understanding of the UK Nuclear Power & Defence industries including Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental factors.
Experience with CEMAR - Desirable
