Job Title: Contracts Manager.
Location: Mansfield Office Based (Travel to site-based projects across East & West Midlands required).
Sectors: Construction, Security, Infrastructure (Water).
Job Type: Permanent Role.
Salary: Circa £50,000 to £55,000 Per Annum + Package.

Job summary:

Our client, a large multidisciplinary Construction & Infrastructure Contractor, is looking for a Security Cleared Contracts Manager to join their security division on a permanent basis. This role will involve completing security upgrades to Water Assets on behalf of Severn Trent Water (as well as other similar clients), predominately across the Midlands area. This will be achieved by working with the internal Design and Build team, to deliver a variety of security upgrades, including but not limited to; physical security methods including high fencing, access control systems, intruder detection systems, CCTV systems and systems integration techniques. As well as relevant industry experience, we are ideally looking for candidates who possess strong contractual knowledge of NEC forms of contract (and other industry used forms of contract) including different contract options.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing all site activities and site staff, to ensure that design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards.
  • Align the client's direction and needs.
  • Interpret and manage contract commitments.
  • Manage client & contractor expectations and managing the relationship with the client.
  • Ensuring that the deliverables within each stage of the projects are delivered to the highest quality.
  • Working with the client to enable the most efficient and cost-effective approach, in delivering outstanding projects while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
  • Demonstrate and develop financial controls, that detail profit and loss, detailed cost to complete reports for each project within the programme, with the assistance of the Commercial Manager.
  • Development of strong team working relationships.
  • Ensuring all project KPI`s and KPM`s are achieved.
  • Developing accurate project programmes and cost forecasts.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and client procedures.
  • Manage office and site staff requirements and resourcing against multiple live projects.
  • Management of financial risk.
  • Ownership and delivery of the entire batch of project, design, costs, programme, documentation, site activities, procurement etc.
  • Promote innovative ways of working and strive for efficiency across workstream.

Candidates will ideally:

  • Have BPSS, CTC or SC clearance.
  • Hold an Engineering Degree, or other equivalent qualification, and/or Chartered Engineer status.
  • Hold specific security industry related qualifications surrounding;
    • Working knowledge of physical security methods.
    • Access control systems.
    • Intruder detection systems.
    • Systems integration techniques.
  • Have previously worked in a similar role, ideally within the Construction/Water industries.
  • Be commercially aware with strong contractual awareness (NEC forms of contract + different contract options).
  • Possess excellent communication skills (Both workforce and client).
