Job description

My client is currently seeking a Contracts Manager on a permanent basis for their maintenance and services division.

With a very busy order book with a number of key clients within the Yorkshire region, you will be required to hit the ground running with project values typically between £50,000 up to £1,000,000.

Accountabilities:

  • Being a single point of contact to several clients and ensuring that any additional work can be brought on where required
  • Having the ability to price work that have lower values to ensure a quick tender process
  • Management of several building and maintenance projects - around 5-7 at any one time.
  • The development of project briefs, specifications, scopes of work or any other technical information to contribute to the delivery of projects, procurement and Client's briefings.
  • Knowledge of Local authorities' contracts and long-term frameworks.
  • Ensure all technical information provided is accurate to legislative standards, ACoPs and best practice.
  • Assist in the develop specification for tenders and contribute to the procurement process to include evaluations and awards of contracts.
  • Manage the delivery of all projects utilising the project management process and principals.
  • The issuing of works orders ensuring compliance with legislative, contractual and workmanship requirements including the briefing and commissioning of all consultants and clients.
  • To develop and prepare option appraisals, feasibility studies, estimates and the production of technical reports as required.
  • To direct and monitor works to include contract variations, project costs and final accounts as appropriate. Assist in evaluating and determining appropriate actions where problems occur and report to client.
  • Operate within the policies, systems and business plans of Asset Management and the company

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience and or professional qualification for Project Management and/or Contracts Management
  • IT skills and experience working on databases within the business
  • Experience on framework contracts and any experience in business development to open more opportunities within the business
  • Experience in a building design or maintenance environment, with experience in a variety of construction situations.
