Job description

My client is currently seeing a Contracts Manager level candidate to start up on a new framework run out of the North East.

The locations for this would be most of the North east (Northumberland to North Yorkshire) with one of my client's regional offices to be decided.

This is to be working on a 10-year framework that has been awarded to the business and includes planned investment works to Council housing stock. These works are in relation to Kitchens, Bathrooms and Rewires.

Accountabilities:

  • Management of several construction projects which will include Kitchen, bathrooms and refurbishment of properties.
  • The development of project briefs, specifications, scopes of work or any other technical information to contribute to the delivery of projects, procurement and Client's briefings.
  • Knowledge of Local authorities' contracts and long-term frameworks.
  • Ensure all technical information provided is accurate to legislative standards, ACoPs and best practice.
  • Assist in the develop specification for tenders and contribute to the procurement process to include evaluations and awards of contracts.
  • Manage the delivery of all projects utilising the project management process and principals.
  • The issuing of works orders ensuring compliance with legislative, contractual and workmanship requirements including the briefing and commissioning of all consultants and clients.
  • To develop and prepare option appraisals, feasibility studies, estimates and the production of technical reports as required.
  • To direct and monitor works to include contract variations, project costs and final accounts as appropriate. Assist in evaluating and determining appropriate actions where problems occur and report to client.
  • Operate within the policies, systems and business plans of Asset Management and the company

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience and or professional qualification for Project Management and/or Contracts Management
  • IT skills and experience working on databases within the business
  • Experience on framework contracts and any experience in business development to open more opportunities within the business
  • Experience in a building design or maintenance environment, with experience in a variety of construction situations.
