Job description

My client, a large, national contractor, have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join their successful team on a permanent basis.

You will be overseeing multiple, fast-track contracts, predominantly in the banking sector, and managing the safe delivery of these to budget and schedule, ensuring works are completed to a high quality and client needs are met.

This position allows you to manage contracts from the initial tender stage through to completion, whilst building relationships with clients, and taking responsibility for Site Managers, demonstrating excellent leadership capabilities. The ability to take a strong commercial standpoint and financially manage projects to increase profitability will also be a key part of this role.

Further duties include:

  • Monitoring compliance with all company procedures
  • Ensuring quality standards are adhered to on all projects, and snag-free handovers are implemented
  • Running and attending progress meetings, and producing reports based on these to present to clients and team members
  • Communicating with design teams and client representatives
  • Building relationships with clients, presenting programmes to them, and making sure that client satisfaction is accomplished
  • Checking subcontractors' performance to ensure quality and performance standards are met
  • Managing the supply of labour and materials
  • Planning and implementing site set up and programmes
  • Providing leadership and guidance to teams, monitoring their performance and effectively motivating staff
  • Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are followed on site, meeting the required compliance and legislation
  • Undertaking additional duties as required, and approaching work in a proactive manner
  • Promoting business cultures and values at all times

Experience overseeing fast track contracts and managing these effectively within the construction industry, for a minimum of 5 years, is a requirement for this position.

Ideally, you will also have banking or retail fit out project experience, and be able to demonstrate superb communication, organisational and leadership skills, and have a good commercial awareness.
