Contracts Manager - West Yorkshire - construction (fitout and new build) - £40k-£50k+package

Exciting opportunity to join multi-discipline, award winning Main Contractor offering a full range of professional construction, design and building services. The company, a well-establoshed regional main contractor, provides excellent service to the industrial, commercial and retail sectors for both new build and refurbishment projects.

As Contracts Manager - you will be responsible for managing a number of projects with the support of the Operations Manager across refurbishment, fit-out and some new-build schemes. Contracts Manager will support site teams/Managers and Assistants in delivering the projects on time, to budget and to a happy client.

- Attend scoping/survey meetings;
- Produce plan/programme;
- Assist the Commercial team in preparation of cost plan;
- Assist Health and Safety Advisors in preparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan;
- Attend various meetings with Client and end user as required;
- Procurement of long lead material and plant items (assist and advise the Procurement Team and QS);
- Assist Site Manager with procurement of materials and general items;
- Complete Client specific forms in conjunction with other departments;
- Plan labour to suit project requirements.
- Manage conflict (design/specification information or human);
- Manage client expectations;
- Manage the flow of information between all parties and ensure current information is passed to site;
- Produce progress reports, with information provided by the Site Team;
- Manage and support Site Teams to ensure the programme is being met including sub-contractors;
- Manage and monitor:
- Manage the procedure to ensure any defects are attended to promptly;
- Assist QS with final account;
- Ensure statutory approvals are concluded;
- Attend Making Good Defects meetings;
- Close out any issues to obtain MGD certificate;
- Manage the procedure to ensure O&M manual is completed.

Qualifications/experience required:-
- Experience of contracts/project management/site management, ideally within the retail/fitout sectors. Demonstrable ability to present and manage project plans;
- Good knowledge and understanding of the industry;
- Understanding of issues such as building regulations and planning;
- Experience in a customer facing role, with a proven track record of putting client first;
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental safety requirements;
- Fully computer literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages;
- Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS);
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Black Card;
- Asbestos Awareness;
- Full clean driving licence;
- NVQ level 6 or equivalent in construction or construction related activity.
- Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) membership;
- First Aid qualification;
- Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Project software.
