Contracts Manager (Remediation)

Location - Surrey - London and the South

Reporting to: Contracts Manager

Location: Site Based

Salary- £50,000 - £65,000 Negotiable dependant on experience

My client successfully delivers the design and implementation of ground and water remediation solutions for land restoration.

Due to their expansion in the sector they are looking to appoint a Remediation Contracts Manager who has experience in Soil remediation and groundwater treatment.

The purpose of this role:
Contracts Managers ensure that the client's requirements are met, the project is completed on time and within budget and organising the various professional people working on a project, making sure the quality standards are met and monitoring sub-contractors, with some responsibility for accounting, costing and billing.

You will have a minimum of five years' experience including good quality contracting experience. A relevant science or engineering qualification and a background in contaminated land are essential. You will be commercially aware and experienced at providing cost effective solutions in a highly competitive market. Analytical and technical writing skills are important but above all else a flexible and collaborative attitude to solving problems is critical to this role. You will also be experienced in managing projects with high standards of health and safety.

Primary Tasks and Duties:

1. Management of multiple projects at any given stage of development, tender, design, installation through to final account.
2. This includes pre-tender and tender negotiations, variations to contract, contract terms negotiation etc.
3. Liaison with internal and external customers. Develop strong customer relationships and ensure clients are kept aware of project deviations to avoid conflicts and disputes, by providing information and pre-agreeing changes
4. Resourcing of both subcontractors and internal installation resource to meet delivery dates
5. Overseeing and managing small teams of project engineers project by project
6. Liaison with the site manager to organise support required to achieve KPI's of the role
7. Ensuring that all statutory and legislative requirements are met including Risk Assessment, CDM and all other HSE issues
8. Control invoice issue from initial stage to final payment and ensure that all costs are captured
9. Completion of all sign off documentation and ownership of project file alongside the PM.
10. Minimise project risks, initiate corrective actions when required and provide project reports to the Project manager / Operations Manager for all project deliverables.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Project Management experience in a multiple project environment with projects of a similar size
* Good customer facing and customer communication skills
* CSCS Card
* Knowledge of CAD.
* Must be able to read and understand technical/ architectural drawings and carry out site surveys
* Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential,
* Asta is beneficial
* Excellent project planning skills
* Proactive and skilled at working beneficially with colleagues
* SMSTS or SSSTS - CITB Certification, or other industry recognised Health & Safety related certification. (IOSH / NEBOSH)
* Knowledge of JCT / NEC construction contracts is beneficial.
