Contracts Manager

We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Contracts Manager, for the Building Division of one of our premier Clients, a highly successful and well respected National Main Contractor. They are looking for a Contracts Manager. The successful Candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all activities and staff to ensure that Health & Safety, design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards. This relates to all areas of project delivery pre-construction, during construction and post construction. One of the primary responsibilities will be to align to the Client's direction and needs, interpret contract commitments and to manage Client expectations.

Main duties include responsibility for:

  • Bring and drive innovative ideas
  • Build client, consultant and supply chain relationships
  • Contract and financial negotiations
  • Coordinate with the Project Team to ensure that the design activities are visible and that all operations are aligned to support the programme
  • Cost risk management and early identification of problematic projects
  • Development and implementation of business improvement plans
  • Development of strong team working relationships
  • Ensure audit findings are closed out
  • Ensure commercial challenge at all times to site teams
  • Ensure the minimum of waste results from all operations on site and that proper and effective standards of housekeeping are maintained
  • Ensuring all project KPI`s and KPM`s are achieved
  • Ensuring all staged design/programmes are updated in line with requirements
  • Ensuring compliance to divisional & client procedures
  • High management level meeting attendance as required
  • Monitoring of site Health and Safety behaviours
  • Ownership of the entire project, design, costs, programme, documentation, site activities and procurement
  • Programme and procure resource
  • Promote behaviours to influence best performance
  • Promote Near Miss and Positive Intervention reporting
  • Regular site visits
  • Regularly review project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve performance
  • Reviewing sub-contractor performance
  • Set and monitor targets - cost / time / P&G review / meetings
  • Support staff development
  • To regularly review project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve performance
  • Training and career development of employees.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • An excellent communicator with all
  • An industry applicable qualification
  • A good level of competency of Microsoft packages
  • Be able to organise yourself and others workload
  • Commercial and contractual awareness with a proven track record of success
  • Self-motivation, passion and a driven 'can do' attitude.
