My client is an investment, advisory and development partner with a focus on health and social infrastructure. They are now looking for a consultant - Fire, Health and Safety to join their team in Bristol.

Job Description

You will work as part of the Fire, Health & Safety team, offering a range of skills and services to our clients. The role is specifically recruiting for someone who has a Fire / Health & Safety / Building Surveying / Engineering background with experience working in Fire Safety and Health & Safety in the built environment.

Working closely with other team members you will assist in the implementation and provision of high quality consultancy advice. Their aim is to be a partner of choice for their clients, working with them on both the operational and strategic aspects of their business.

You will be expected to be responsible for the management of resources, and projects, within the team. The job offers opportunities to work across the different teams within the office, and across the business, nationwide. The right candidate will be willing to face new challenges head on, and be able to use their initiative, and experience to solve problems.

Roles and Responsibilities

Business

  • Contribute to the achievement of the business plan through fee earning, set to annual targets;
  • Assist in growing the team and developing innovative and commercial solutions for clients;
  • Attend training to develop and build on knowledge and professional skills;
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the healthcare sector;
  • Engage with the team to ensure expertise, knowledge and new services are promoted to all clients;
  • Contributing to development and review of Health and Safety policies, including auditing the implementation of these and recommending action plans where gaps are identified.

Fire and Health & Safety team

  • Advise and assist senior members of the team in the interpretation and application of fire, health & safety legislation and other guidance relevant to healthcare premises;
  • Interpret and implement instructions from the team and Clients;
  • Analyse and interpret information that forms the basis of output reports;
  • Communicate and provide customer focused high quality services to all clients;
  • Arrange and participate in client meetings, conferences and other project team activities;
  • Assist senior members of the team to deliver projects, including;
  • Active and passive fire system surveys;
  • Fire Risk Assessments;
  • Principal Designer duties;
  • Specialist fire advisory;
  • Design review.

In order to be considered for this role you will be:

Graduate or working towards engineering / construction / project management / building surveying degree.

Completed or working towards HND / HNC in engineering / construction / project management / fire, health & safety / building surveying

Completed or working towards NEBOSH certificate in Fire / Health & Safety

Experience working in Health & Safety, or

One years' post graduate experience, or

Experience working in Fire Safety
