Anderselite are currently looking to recruit a Rail Construction Manager to work in Central London for a tier 2 contractor. Must have London Underground experience as a Construction Manager to be considered for this requirement.

The successful Rail Construction Manager will have previous experience working on London Underground Projects and possess the relevant knowledge and experience to carry out required duties. You will be adept in the control and coordination of a workforce involved in Rail Programmes, be safety conscious with the ability to push output to ensure that the project achieves programme deadlines.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in the production and review of method statements, safety plans and train workings
  • Ensure contingencies are in place, all risks are controlled and make improvements as appropriate
  • Determine methods of work and plant to be used on site. Seek alternative methods to improve productivity, safety and quality
  • Lead, motivate and direct staff in Production to complete the programme of works to the required specification, in a safe and compliant manner and at least cost to the client
  • Monitor performance of Supervisors and give guidance on planning, preparation and implementation of works, ensuring action plans are produced to address shortfall
  • Ensure resource allocation is compliant and in line with construction budgets, reporting any deviance to the General Manager
  • Monitor work progressed against programme and specification. Initiate changes to correct deficiencies and advise the Project Manager accordingly
  • Responsible for ensuring that initial site briefings are carried out prior to any work commencing. This includes ensuring adequate competent resources are available to deliver the work content, protection personnel are familiar with the location, all employees are fit for duty (not under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol) and plant is fit for purpose
  • Maintain managerial checks to ensure that works are being delivered in a safe and compliant manner. Complete relevant certificates and documents and ensure that they are kept in an auditable system
  • You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are a key requirement for this role. The candidate will also ideally have the following Experience/skill set

Must Have:

  • CSCS
  • LUCAS Card
  • London Underground Experience
  • HNC or HND Qualification
