Construction Interface Supervisor (Planning) Required - Permanent Role (Ideally) - Rail Sector - Midlands then Milton Keynes Based - Interview/Start ASAP - Salary circa £36,000 to £42,000 Per Annum (Negotiable) - (Junior/Assistant Roles Also Available)

Our client, a large national Construction/Civil Engineering/Rail contractor, working as part of the East West Rail Alliance Phase 2 (EWR2), is currently looking for a Construction Interface Supervisor (Planning) to join their Track Access scheme, ideally on a permanent basis. This job title will entail both supervising work on site, as well as planning work and logistics management - we are therefore ideally looking for candidates who has worked in site based Supervisor/Management roles as well as office based Planning roles, over their career. The role itself with entail working on the £1+ Billion East West Rail scheme, which consists of upgrading the rail lines between Oxford to Bedford (from track, to bridges and stations etc). Initially, whilst the project is in design phase and before the construction begins, you will be based out of our clients Birmingham Office, before moving to be site based (Milton Keynes area) in 6-12 months. Aside from having experience within the Rail sector, responsibilities for this role will include being.

Responsible for:

  • Construction interface - attendance of PDR Plan Do Review) to review upcoming work-scope
  • Attendance at weekly Resource meetings
  • Nightshift working will incorporate site co-ordination and logistics management
  • Act as the Deputy for the Senior Planning Site Supervisor
  • Attending four hourly conference calls with NR Route Control Manager and ODM Team (Operational Delivery Manager)
  • Implementing Contingency Plans
  • Ensuring the Right Time Handback to return Worksites back to the Operational Railway
  • Preplanning the coordination of works
  • Integration of works between disciplines
  • Monitoring progress against the programme
  • Attendance of Whiteboard Meetings
  • Act as the Principal Contractors Site Representative for the EWR Alliance
  • Coordination of communications between NR Operations and EWR planning
  • Interface between Rail Control Centre and Planning
  • Clear understanding of all activities to be undertaken within the Worksite/s and review priority items
  • Communications with Station Masters
  • Knowledge of machinery e.g. cranes, lifting operations and potential breakdown risks associated.
  • Basic understanding of ecology management and escalation processes involved
  • For Cause Testing and Incident reporting
  • Prioritisation of works and main point of contact
  • Reporting of the Trust Delay Attribution (TDA) to project
  • Undertaking Conference calls with SWL to deliver briefings
  • Delivering Safety Briefings
  • Delivering Tool Box Talks
  • Co-ordination and Ordering of Site Equipment
  • Maintaining updates to Track Access Container
  • Send out a Duty Manager report at end of the shift

Experience and Skills Requirements

Expected:

  • Managerial / Supervisory track record in rail project environment
  • Proven ability to influence and manage complex and demanding stakeholders
  • Proven health and safety record
  • Literate in Microsoft packages
  • Commercially astute
