Our client, a growing specialist Water & Drainage contractor, has an excellent opportunity available for a Commercial Framework Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing department, and the role will be a key appointment, aiding the departments continued success and growth, over the coming years. The role will suit a motivated and driven Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, who is looking to develop throughout their career and taken on a challenging and rewarding role.

In this role you will get the opportunity to work on a new framework for the Canal & River Trust, with a potential 10 year life cycle (4 years + 6 year extension). Projects will be tendered for individually, and it is estimated that you will manage a workload of circa £20 Million - £45 Million Per Annum, which will be made up of multiple projects circa £50,000 - £2 Million in value (There will also be a handful of larger schemes up to the value of £5 Million).

You will be required to maintain accurate records of all values costs, programme changes, productivity and profitability, as well as implementing appropriate controls to monitor and ensure all stakeholders operate in accordance with the company procedures.

The scope of works will including but are not limited to:
• Channel lining, trench sheeting, and piling; Culvert cleaning, lining, inspection and repair; Towpath surfacing.
• Lock, bridge and aqueduct repairs, including grouting; Weir repairs, canal and river; Dater related reservoir works.
• M&E works; Building works, Restoration schemes (which may include new build).
• Minor works including bridge parapet repairs, bank protection, etc.
• Moorings, Emergency works and 24/7 response, Ground & site investigation.
• Design (e.g. feasibility, permanent & temporary works).

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
• Reporting into a Commercial Manager.
• Liaising with stakeholders to enable site progression without delays.
• Basic Cost Management.
• Providing clear information to the site teams.
• Preparing monthly internal values.
• Preparing monthly KPI reports.
• Ensure projects are managed in accordance with the contract terms.
• Oversee Sub-Contract and procurement payments.
• Prepare Contractor orders for the Commercial Manager.

Candidates will ideally:
• Hold a relevant qualification, such as a degree (or similar), in Quantity Surveying.
• Have worked within the construction or civil engineering sector (experience in Water / Drainage / Utilities would be advantageous!).
• Have a good understanding of NEC3/4 forms of contract.
• Subcontractor management and client meeting experience preferable.
• Be a self-starer, with a positive and proactive hands-on attitude.
• Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
• Be happy with associated site visits / travel.
