Climate Change Manager

The role of the Climate Change Programme Manager will be to manage the identification, implementation and monitoring of measures to improve air quality and reduce noise and carbon associated with the operation, maintenance and improvement of the Strategic Road Network (SRN) in Wales.

Key Tasks

• The procurement and management of specialist air quality, noise and carbon advice and services

• The identification and evidence led appraisal of potential measures to improve air quality and reduce noise and carbon.

• The implementation and management of measures to improve air quality and reduce noise and carbon.

• The monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of measures to improve air quality and reduce noise and carbon.

• The preparation of draft responses to correspondence and ministerial submissions, briefing, diary cases and oral and written Assembly Questions relating to air quality, noise and carbon from the operation, maintenance and improvement of the SRN.

• The preparation of draft responses to press queries

• The preparation of SRN contributions to Welsh Government air quality, noise and carbon consultations, strategies and plans.

• The running of all public consultation exercises and workshops related to the implementation of measures to improve air quality and reduce noise and carbon.

• Liaison with key internal stakeholders including Environment and Legal Services

• Liaison with all external stakeholders

• Leading on the conduct of any legal action relating to air quality, noise and carbon on the SRN (preparing or contributing to witness statements, providing information to legal advisers, supporting officials and legal advisers in court etc.)
