Job description

I am currently recruiting a Chief Operating Officer for my client in Nottingham.

The main purpose of the role will be to:

  • To oversee operational performance and ensure that the SPV is compliant from a contractual, safety and operational perspective.
  • To understand best practice from an operational perspective and drive delivery to this standard
  • To drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction
  • Support the CEO in setting and driving the marketing strategy
  • To support the CEO as required in delivering the business strategy

Main Duties:

  • Agree a strategy with the CEO and Board to maximise revenue growth whilst ensuring robust, efficient and secure systems are in place.
  • Develop a Marketing Plan with the CEO and for presentation and approval by the Board
  • Lead, motivate, line manage the Marketing and data analytics team ensuring behaviours aligned to corporate values
  • Ensure the marketing budget is managed effectively and transparently by tracking cost benefits of expenditures
  • Ensure operational service delivered in line with contract requirements
  • Drive improvements in Operation performance and reliability working with the Council, Operator and local Police.
  • Work to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. Interpret customer satisfaction feedback and devise appropriate improvement plans
  • Ensure high levels of Health & Safety performance
  • Interrogate PMS system performance and ensure remedial action plans in place when required
  • Ensure sufficient capacity on network to support revenue goals
  • Manage commercially important activities to ensure best value outcomes for items such as energy and insurance procurement
  • Develop professional working relationships with all key stakeholders based on mutual respect and confidence
  • Produce high quality reports as necessary for Board reporting that identify the issues, impacts and mitigation's in a precise and succinct manner.

In order to be considered for this role you will require experience in the following areas:

  • Asset Management
  • Relationship development and management
  • Revenue growth and management in business to consumer market
  • Contract Interpretation
  • Management experience in a changing and challenging environment
  • Ideally Operational management experience within Tram or Rail.
  • Board reporting
