BREEAM Assessor and Sustainability Consultant

Working as part of the PM Team you will be providing BREEAM and Sustainability consultancy and project management services across a range of sectors and building types and funding arena's.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

BREEAM and sustainability Services to include:

BREEAM Assessments

  • Lead on day to day delivery of project BREEAM Assessments
  • Chairing meetings with client and design team
  • Ensuring the necessary information needed for the assessments is collected and reviewed
  • Preparing reports to be submitted to Building Research Establishment (BRE)
  • Advising on anticipated scores and provide regular updates to project team members
  • Respond to the BRE on quality management checks
  • Producing and keep up to date monthly tracking schedules

BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP)

  • Assisting the with production of AP reports at various stage of the construction process
  • Advising on energy usage strategies from the outset of project
  • Undertaking joint presentations to clients and design team members

BREEAM In-Use and SKA Rating

  • Undertake BREEAM In-Use Assessments with clients
  • Provide advise concerning on site energy and water systems
  • Look at operational usage and comments on potentially greater energy efficient usage methods
  • Undertake seasonal reviews with clients
  • Look at alternative low or zero carbon technology alternatives to current energy usage with the client

BREEAM Construction Operations

  • Advise Contractors on their obligations under the BREEAM Assessment
  • Assist with the set up and management of environmental management systems
  • Set up procedures for monitoring site energy and water consumption

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience:

Essential

  • BREEAM Accredited Professional qualification
  • Ability to work in a team under supervision and to lead on individual tasks when required.
  • Understand health and safety legislation covering the construction industry.
  • CSCS accredited

Desirable

  • Have a demonstrable understanding and relevant experience of project management.
  • NEC contract knowledge
  • Hold relevant Project Management qualifications i.e. PRINCE2, APM Project Management Qualification etc.
  • Experience of CEEQUAL assessments.

Skills and Abilities:

Essential

  • Analytical skills - the ability to analyse and sort complex data into an understandable form.
  • Good interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose and explain complex issues concisely to different audiences.
  • Strong numerical ability and capability in use of MS excel.
  • Initiative to work independently, with the self-motivation and enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills and expertise.
  • Ability to be part of a team, through excellent inter-personal and team working skills, ensuring motivated and productive attitude.
  • Computer literate. (Being able to communicate by email and prepare documents, using spreadsheets, and prepare reports and basic presentations using MS Office and other software.
  • Driving licence.
