Job description

I have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Utilities Engineer, to join an International Civil Engineering and Building Consultancy, based in the Midlands.

My client has a portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects requiring your utilities engineering expertise. Their pipeline of projects is growing and offers the opportunity to deliver innovative, cost effective utility solutions to their clients.

As a Utilities Engineer, you will work on a diverse range of utility challenges from land development, complex regeneration in cities to feasibility assessments for wind farms.

Ideally you will have a degree / higher level qualification in either Civil or Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. This is not an essential requirement, as your experience within utility engineering solutions is what's critical to be successful in this role, however it would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities / duties include:

  • Lead on the provision of technical support for master planning, environmental impact assessment, procurement and delivery of utilities projects
  • Work closely with clients to develop highly effective utility engineering solutions
  • Deliver high quality desktop and intrusive utility investigations and assessments
  • Provide strategic advice on utility requirements to meet growth aspirations for Local Authorities
  • Procurement of major service diversions

Skills/ qualifications that are required for this role:

  • Strong client engagement skills and the ability to influence the delivery of effective and sustainable infrastructure solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of the infrastructure network and utility services design
  • Understanding of utility regulations and supply requirements
  • Experience of negotiating with utility service providers
