Associate Infrastructure Engineer

Leeds

£50,000 - £60,000


An Associate Infrastructure Engineer is required to lead the Infrastructure team in Leeds for an international multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with a great reputation in the market. This role represents an important development from one exclusively responsible for technical engineering and design work into one that starts to take on the wider issues of business management.

The successful candidate will lead the Infrastructure Engineering team in Leeds and be responsible for the Infrastructure Design on a diverse range of exciting projects primarily in Yorkshire, the North West and the Midlands.
Based in our vibrant office in Leeds, this position brings a fantastic opportunity to work across an exciting portfolio of projects in the UK covering a large range of sectors including commercial, residential, mixed use, healthcare, education and cultural.

What Will I be doing?
Under supervision of an Associate Director:
- Run a team of people within the Group
- Take responsibility for management of people, client and commercial issues as required by the Job leader / Project Leader role and represent the client at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers
- Monitor job and group financial performance

Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed civil engineering design, including drainage, minor roads, site development and earthworks.
- Delivery of a diverse project portfolio delivering numerous projects at any one time.
- Client facing, representing the client at both internal and external project meetings.
- Familiar with local and UK design guides, proficient in submitting and gaining consents and approvals through liaison with Local Authorities and Statutory bodies.
- Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work
- Prepare technical specifications and schedules
- Prepare technical and financial proposals for provision of professional services
- Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
- Lead and manage planning of project work and resourcing planning of the Infrastructure team in Leeds
- Commitment to CPD and self-learning / development.

What can I bring to the role?
- Typically eight years' experience or equivalent
- Strong technical background in drainage, external works, and earthworks design.
- Experience delivering a diverse project portfolio delivering numerous projects at any one time.
- Good communication skills, experience of communicating technical subjects
- Ability to work effectively and autonomously and make design decisions
- Proficiency in WinDes MicroDrainage, AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, AutoCAD.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with a minimum 2:1 result in Civil Engineering
- Masters degree in Civil Engineering - preferred
- Professional registration (Chartered status) with a relevant institution
