Our client are a multi-disciplinary consulting and contacting company working across the UK. They specialise in the investigation and remediation of development land, and services include: geotechnical consultancy, environmental consultancy, site investigation, earthworks, demolition, land remediation, civil engineering, mine stabilization and renewable energy development. Now entering their 20th year and growing significantly year upon year, they are now one of the leading brownfield service providers in the UK.

They are now looking for an ambitious individual to help the Regional Director to manage and develop the consultancy team in the North East, and manage clients and their expectations.

The role will be client facing and therefore excellent interpersonal skills are essential. The ideal candidate would have the following skill set:

• Be a competent geo-environmental engineer with a proven track record.
• Be capable of preparing and reviewing technical reports.
• Ideally have experience in remediation / earthworks design.
• Have experience in preparing project bids. Experience in contract law would be an advantage.
• Have excellent managerial and inter-personal skills.
• Hold a first degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or a related field. A second degree would be welcomed but is not essential.
• Preferably hold Chartered status with a professional body.
• Have experience in negotiating with regulators.
• Experience of working on major house building projects would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience in business development would be a further advantage.

Whilst the role is technical in nature the managerial and project management element of the role is equally as important.
