Job description

We are working with a Global Construction Consultancy who are looking for an experienced individual to strengthen their Procurement and contracts capabilities in their team, working across the Infrastructure, Utilities & Energy sector, based out of either the offices in Leeds or Manchester

The client

Our client are a Global Infrastructure Consultancy with revenue in the £Bns, and who work across a variety of sectors including Utilities, Property, Construction, Infrastructure, Energy and Transportation

Role description

The immediate role will be predominantly be based on client site in West Yorkshire with scope to work out of one of the local offices. The individual will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services to a key account client.

Further opportunities are available to travel both nationally and internationally to service and manage key commissions for a blue chip client portfolio.

Duties:

* To develop procurement and contract strategies for major packages and programmes of work on £multi-million projects to public and private sector clients.
* To support the leadership of the regional team including delivering procurement and contract projects, often based on client sites.
* To actively support the development and marketing of our Intelligent Procurement Product
* Take a lead role in delivering best-in-class strategic procurement advisory & end to end procurement services to key clients.

The candidate:

The right candidate will ideally have the following expertise:

* Procurement strategy
* Contract Management
* OJEU Procurement
* Supply chain intelligence
* Contract development
* Commercial modelling
* Supplier evaluation strategies
* Contract terms, negotiation and award
* Construction and contract law.

Experience & Qualifications:

* Preferably possess degree related to quantity surveying, law or procurement or be MCIPS.
* Extensive experience of various forms of construction contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
* Confident, independent with a proven track record of delivering results.
* Detailed understanding of the latest UK Public Contracts and Utilities Regulations
* Be able to manage work/business development/career development activities.
* Excellent communication skills, adaptable, with a determination to succeed.
* People and/or team management including financial reporting responsibilities.
