Job description

I am currently recruiting an Associate Director of Strategic Healthcare planning for my client in the South West.

As the Associate Director for Strategic Healthcare Planning you are responsible for the delivery of strategic projects within a range of client portfolios. This will include participating fully in the development of strategic commissions through from models of care redesign, data analysis, clinical planning, and business case development/authorship across primary, secondary and specialised service sectors. In addition you are also required to provide strategic estate transformation and operational advice for a number of high profile projects at various stages of the development cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple complex strategic projects within clinical environments
  • Manage complex stakeholder consultations, including collaborative evidence based clinical challenge/benchmarking
  • Assist the Director in expansion of the service offer and client base
  • Be accomplished in trouble shooting and problem solving through utilising six sigma principles
  • Undertake cross specialty stakeholder management
  • Demonstrate excellence communication skills with an ability to offer a strategic assessment of situations quickly
  • Be able to work with conflicting needs to develop 'win-win' scenarios whilst maintaining alignment with strategic goals
  • Manage feasibility clinical/estates studies and investment appraisals, inclusive of innovative service/capital solutions
  • Develop client's clinical and estate strategies
  • Develop and contribute to whole health economy clinical and estates strategic models
  • Prepare reports, strategies and business cases and present outputs to clients at Senior Executive Director / Chief Executive level
  • Lead detailed data analysis and capacity planning for clinical and support services, and infrastructure requirements
  • Manage concept and detailed design development through robust clinical planning processes
  • Produce project programmes and manage schemes to deliver on time and to budget.
  • Lead and deliver tender responses, proposals and key service line products to the market.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with our clients and key client accounts/frameworks.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in clinical or health related discipline.
  • Member of relevant professional body i.e RCS, IHM.

Experience

  • 8 years post qualification experience in strategic consultancy/healthcare planning within the health sector.
  • Line management experience.

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent numerate skills;
  • Ability to organise self and others;
  • Financial management and budgetary skills;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • IT literate in Microsoft applications

Knowledge

  • Key NHS Strategic policies and guidance.
  • Health Building Notes
  • HM Treasury 5 case model
  • Familiar with leading health policy and publications eg Kings Fund, Nuffield Health.
