Job description

Associate Director - Transport Planning
Circa £60-65k plus car allowance, plus bonus plus benefits

Newmarket & London

Here at Cannon, we love to "fire" people.

Hence this vacancy.

Sorry, let us explain, we love to "propel" people as far as they can and want to go.

Business is booming. We've focused on growing our London office in the last year, and there's more to come. The team is stretched and that means there's a great opening at senior management level in our Newmarket Office. If you work in Development Planning, focused on delivering sites through the planning process and are an Associate or above then this opportunity is your chance to light the fuse!

We're a small, successful consultancy, providing highways, transport and infrastructure advice to the development industry. We've been run by our co-founders Rob and Rik for ten years now and we employ around 20 people, mostly in our Newmarket HQ but also in our satellite London office, where we're fast building the team and winning some exciting and varied new projects.

This role is a great chance to take on plenty of strategic, senior responsibility but without the accompanying hassle and headaches of running your own business. Our directors (who you'll be working closely with) will handle the trickier aspects of leading a growing consultancy whilst making sure you are also able to share the rewards.
You'll ideally, be based in Newmarket but with so much happening in London, we're open to appointing someone who wants to work across both locations. Add to that a generous car allowance, a great salary package and a brilliant team of people and you've got everything you're looking for in your next move.

Ready to progress?

You've already proven your leadership skills whether at Associate or AD level - and you're ambitious to keep moving forward. Experience aside, we're looking for a positive, problem-solving attitude. You're someone who's comfortable working directly with clients listening, guiding, charming and challenging them - whatever it takes to keep projects progressing from A to B.

A bit of TP geekery is more than welcome - the devil is often in the detail - but you also need to be able to take a wider, strategic view. You're ready to come in and start delivering projects, managing and motivating others and, in the longer term, helping us to shape the business.
