Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Groundworks and Construction: Salary: Up to £35,000. Central London

An opportunity has arisen to work for a Groundworks main contractor to work on a significant historical site in Central London. They are an Investor in People award-winning company who will support a successful candidates ambition towards RICS accreditation. They are looking for an assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a heritage site which is undergoing structural alterations, piling and general groundworks.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Level Quantity Surveyor to experience a stable environment reporting directly into the Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will take ownership of the duties whilst learning in a supportive role. In doing so, the candidate will play a critical part in supporting a multi-million-pound project and will gain experience from liaising directly with the client, steering the project towards successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting EWN's and Letters to Client
  • Pricing Variations - i.e drawing take-offs, material procurement
  • Compiling Application for Payments to client
  • Attending Client Commercial Meeting including but not limited to agreeing VO's, EWN reviews, AFP queries
  • Maintaining all registers including but not limited to Variations, EWN's, Correspondences
  • Assistance with drafting monthly CVR including but not limited to Subcontract accruals, valuation of VO's
  • On boarding subcontractors and drafting of agreements
  • Assessing Subcontractors payment applications
  • Processing payments via Easy Build
  • Issuing payment/pay-less notices
  • Reviewing allocation sheets and ensuring relevant information is captured
  • Updating and maintaining cost code list
  • Updating master cost spreadsheet with accurate cost coding
  • Chasing any outstanding payments from client
  • Advising Head Office of future/pending payments including but not limited to updating sales forecast
  • Checking and verifying plant & material invoices, liaising with site team to ensure all dockets are handed into the office and reconciling orders against delivered goods

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualification
  • Some experience desired
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, advanced user of Excel
  • Excellent Communication skills, written and oral
