Anderselite client, a leading contractor operating within the Rail industry is seeking to employ an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing engineering team working on a portfolio of civil engineering projects for various clients including power stations and rail infrastructure maintenance.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting the Commercial team and contributing to the profitable performance of the business unit, through the successful commercial and financial management of works. The works are fast paced and high in volume and requires an experienced commercial candidate with the ability to handle works in this type of fast pace environment.



Day to day responsibilities would include:

Assisting the Quantity Surveyors / Senior Quantity Surveyors with the procurement function and the evaluation of Subcontractors, including subcontract management and payment
Prepare interim valuations
Prepare final accounts and change controls
Prepare project reports
Prepare project forecasts
Assisting in the preparation of CVR’s


Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in an engineering or civil engineering environment.

Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
Civil Engineering infrastructure project experience (rail, bridges, roads, structures, water, environment agency, for example)
Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract)
Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civils contracting environment (candidates’ looking to step up from Commercial Assistant level with relevant experience will be considered).
