Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering (Highways, Water, Groundworks, Structures) – Bolton – North West Sites - Up to £39000

Job title: Quantity Surveyor

Based: Head office Bolton Lancs

Site visits: North West based
Working Hours: 45 hours per week
Monday – Friday: 07:30 – 17:00 (30 min unpaid lunch break)

The client

My client, a busy regional based civil engineering contractor are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This business has a strong track record within the delivery of infrastructure projects. Their services range from landscaping or junction improvements, right through to full highway construction. Yor role is to is to efficiently manage the financial control on several different sites, in an efficient manner

Highways
Roads
Landscaping
Drainage
Walkways
Bridges
Structures

Duties

Site measurements

Preparations of weekly cost and production reports.

Liaise with the site teams to assess and prepare compensation events and claims.

Assist in negotiation with the clients to facilitate prompt and accurate payments

Interpret drawings and instructions and agree estimates with site teams and clients

Assist in agreeing final accounts with all parties in a prompt manner

Undertake stock control monitoring and provide reports to the Business Director

Assist the business director and his team in preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting

Efficiently manage the financial control on site, in an efficient manner.

Preparing and submitting monthly valuations


Candidate

HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying

Wanting to/Working towards Full Membership of either RICS or CICES

Highways/Civils experience

Understanding of NEC3 and JCT Contracts

Experience of working with business systems, spreadsheet development, cost analysis, programme evaluation and development, compensation event and/or variations assessment and evaluation

Good communication and negotiate skills

Able to work to strict deadlines ¬

¬Full Clean Driving Licence


Salary and package

35 days including bank holidays (Pro rata for 2022)
7 days are to be taken at the Christmas Shutdown
£35k - £39k (depending on experience)
