ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR - SITE BASED - BROMLEY TOWN HALL

Are you an assistant quantity surveyor looking for your next step with a contractor who specialise in high end fit out / refurbishment projects across London and the Home Counties ?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well established fit out contractor who have secured the refurbishment of Bromley Town Hall , which will be converted into in to a 24 bed hotel and co-working space . The project is worth circa £10m and the programme will be 40 weeks .

Your role will involve learning the processes and procedures of the Commercial Department and assisting with a Senior QS on the project gaining the necessary experience to progress within the Team. Your role will consist of, but will not be limited to the following:

Subcontract Procurement

Produce schedules and preparation of bills of quantities for use in the procurement process.

Assist with Subcontract procurement by collating, issuing and reviewing Subcontract enquiry packages.

Production of Subcontractor quotation comparisons for review with the project Team.

Production of the Subcontract orders including the preparation of the pre-let meeting minutes where required.

Subcontract applications, Payment Notices, administering variations and assisting with Final Accounts.

Cost Reporting

Provide feedback to the estimators regarding actual cost data.

Identify cost saving opportunities where possible.

Follow systems to collect and manage cost information.

Assisting in the production of CVR reports where required.

Monitoring of Client Payments and cash flow.

Measurement / Adding Value

The measurement and Valuation of works (on site and from drawings) for valuations, variations and Final Accounts

Updating costs on the GRS (Goods Received Sheets) for the QS accruals.

Checking and signing off low value material invoices and Subcontract payments.

Pricing of daywork sheets received from Sites

Analysis of daily allocation sheets to record internal labour spend.

The role is site-based Monday to Friday, and you therefore must be prepared to work on site as you will be central to the site team that also includes site-based project and site managers .


The salary and remuneration package are negotiable and the right candidate can start in August 2021 .
