Job Title - Assistant Development Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Position - Permanent

Location - Lancashire

Salary - Up to £40K + Benefits Package

Ideal for anyone with 2/3 years or more experience with a Developer or Quantity Surveying background.

The Role

You will be required to support and assist the the Senior Development Manager to manage Real Estate Developments within the company from start to finish, including development, project and commercial management. You will assist with procurement and appropriate management of necessary consultant stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the approved quality aligned with company expectations.

You should be able to demonstrate a strong background in Residential and Commercial property development, either from working in a similar position or from a background in Quantity Surveying and have significant inter personal skills to identify and set out opportunities that will see them delivering the best value from their asset base.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the line manager to carry out their Real Estate Development duties
  • Manage and take responsibility for specific development aspects of work
  • Assist with completion of appropriate feasibility studies to determine ongoing viability of potential development projects for the department. (Lead feasibility where relevant)
  • Assist with procurement, instruction and management of professional and appropriate consultants to carry out development process for feasibility, planning submission, pre-construction, construction and post construction stage. (Lead procurement where relevant.
  • Ensure all consultants engaged with, have appropriate appointments, fee breakdowns and scopes of work
  • Assist with creation and management of development cash flow for line manager approval and subsequent implementation and ongoing management and reporting. (Lead cash-flow work where relevant)
  • Work with line manager to ensure appropriate financial, commercial and legal risks are documented and managed effectively
  • Ensure compliance with relevant development documentation and third party requirements.

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Whilst not necessarily from a Development background, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong awareness of this function, together with investment acumen and an energetic approach.
  • A strong track record of experience within the residential/commercial sector is preferred for this role.
  • An ability to innovate and create in order to identify and implement ways to release value
