Job description

Working with a national main contractor in the construction industry, this is a great opportunity for an Assistant Design Coordinator/ Document Controller, based in Widnes.

This is a permanent role, with a competitive salary on offer, assisting the Design Manager and team with projects in the healthcare, education, student accommodation and leisure sectors. Prior experience working within these sectors would be fantastic.

With excellent organisational skills, this role focuses on supporting design management and document control tasks. As such, you must have prior experience as a Document Controller and be familiar with 4Projects to be considered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the procurement of specialist subcontractors' design input
  • Ensuring that the Design Management Plan and BIM Execution Plan are met by specialist subcontractors
  • Assisting in technical reviews of tender returns
  • Monitor the flow of shared and published design documentation
  • Undertake technical compliance checks
  • Advise on the progress and production of subcontractors' design documentation
  • Utilising 4Projects

For this position, you must hold a valid CSCS card. A construction-related qualification would also be highly beneficial, but is not a requirement. You will need considerable document control experience using 4Projects, ideally on large, commercial construction projects.

There will be some travel expected, within the North West, so a UK driving licence is required.

In return, there is a good salary on offer for this position, c. £30,000-£34,000 per annum + package, alongside the opportunity to join a successful design team within a well-known contractor and expand your knowledge of the design process.
