Job description

My client is looking for an Associate Director/ Director with healthcare experience to come on board and help develop the business in the North and head up a team of specialist consultants. Their area of expertise is within healthcare estates, investment and development. They have significant growth plans over the next 5 years and a large part of the role will be to help develop the business in the North.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for all activities and continued development as the first choice provider offering a range of construction, property and strategic estates related management services to healthcare clients. 
  • You will head up a team of specialist consultants and senior consultants working on a range of health specific and associated market commissions and work streams. 
  • With proven business management attributes and experience of managing staff, the Associate Director will need to hold skills required to develop my clients growth plans.
  • A major part of this role will be to develop growth with new clients and services and to maintain a zero defection rate from all existing clients.

Duties:

  • You will be required to contribute to the achievement of the overall business plan through fee earning to set annual targets. 
  • Maintain and develop existing relationships and ensure that customer-focused high quality services are maintained. 
  • You will be responsible for customer development and increase in the client base ensuring expertise knowledge and new services are promoted and sound working relationships within the health market. 
  • Engage with the wider team to ensure expertise, knowledge and new services are promoted and shared. 
  • Actively participate in collecting market intelligence across the market and provide feedback to the Senior Management Team in the development of the marketing strategy and associated business development. 
  • Keep up to date with NHS and other public estate related guidance, disseminate to staff and provide timely information to Trusts as necessary to ensure good client relationships. 
  • Excellent understanding of marketing in a consultancy business. 
  • Manage the planning and delivery of all projects, to ensure that schemes are delivered to exceed client's expectations and are completed on time, and within budget. 
  • Provide timely supporting information to the board of directors to support the business and achieve its targets. 
  • Attend training to develop and build on knowledge and professional skills.

Requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity you will require:

  • Qualified to degree level or actively working towards corporate membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Over 10 year's experience of working in similar role within Consultancy firm or senior role within the NHS.
  • Fully conversant with NHS policies and procedures including HTMs and HBNs.
  • Previous Business Development experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent numerate skills. Ability to organise self and others. Financial management and budgetary skills. Negotiation skills. IT literate in Microsoft applications.
  • Proven ability to function at Associate director level.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Manage to produce high quality work to tight timescales and in a possible stressful environment.
  • Travel will be required.
