Job description

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established, successful and growing specialist pump hire company based in Hampshire. They differentiate themselves from competitors by applying an intense customer focus and ensuring the most up to date quality equipment is offered. Based in Hampshire and reporting to the National Sales Manager you will be responsible for business development and account management for industrial pump hire across the South and South West UK. The target market for this position mostly consists of civil engineering contractors, groundworks contractors and industrial users in general.

They are looking for an ambitious and energetic sales and business development professional to help us expand their clientele. Candidates will need to have the dedication, knowledge and strategic mindset to create and apply an effective strategy across their geographic territory. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting hires with existing clients and forging strong relationships with new clients.

Duties and Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company's products/services addressing or predicting clients' objectives
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
  • Travel as required throughout the territory to fulfill the duties above

To be considered a viable candidate for this role you will need the following experience and attributes.

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven sales track record preferably in the pump/hire industry
  • Experience in customer support
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Pipedrive)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Market knowledge
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • Ideally experience selling products and/or services to companied ion the civil contracting and engineering industry
  • The ability to plan and implement strategies
