Job description

Projects range from small, single source dispersion modelling studies through to complex multi-source impact assessments to air quality. The clients work mainly focuses on major residential and transport infrastructure developments.

Responsibilities

The project workload will be varied and include transportation-related assessments, point source modelling, odour assessments as well as ambient air quality monitoring studies. Duties will include:

  • Undertaking Air Quality Assessments including dispersion modelling, data analysis and interpretation.
  • Assisting in the management of projects as required.
  • Liaising with both internal and external clients as well as partners and stakeholders (under supervision) to seek information and input data required for the air quality assessment work to be undertaken.
  • Contributing to and assisting in preparation of reports applying acceptable technical writing skills.
  • Assisting in site visits as required.
  • Working under the clear direction of others within the team.
  • Complying with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations and assisting in the development of a Health & Safety culture in the Company.
  • Complying with the Company's management systems including the Quality Management System, Time System, induction requirements and all policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the required office culture, conduct and discipline to encourage enjoyable, productive and efficient working.
  • Undertaking other duties consistent with the job description that may be required from time to time.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Atmospheric science or environmental based Degree/MSc qualified.
  • Experience of dispersion modelling of roads using ADMS.
  • Consultancy experience in transport air quality modelling in the UK market, with practical expertise in air quality modelling including use of ADMS-Roads and DMRB.
  • Understanding of the LAQM and UK planning and regulatory system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Good GIS skills, mainly ARCGIS.
  • Positive and proactive approach.
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team of scientists and engineers.
  • Ability to work alone and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full clean UK Driving License.
  • Membership of relevant professional body (IAQM/IEMA).
