Job Description
Our client a leading Multi Disciplinary Contractor is seeking to employ a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based within their Rail Team working around the Bedford/Peterborough area. You will be working on a variety of bridge and structures related schemes within the rail infrastructure and will be responsible for the overall cost and value reconciliations for each project and the overall commercial and contractual implications. The main responsibilities will be: ? Support the project team in all commercial matters. ? Ensure timely submission of Valuations. ? Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time. ? Produce cash flow forecasts and keep updated. ? Manage the commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts, from procurement to interim and final account agreement. ? Monitor and liaise with Site Agent on progress. ? Ensure materials reconciliation is undertaken. ? To successfully delegate commercial activities to other members of the team as appropriate. ? Ensure that good records are kept in order that the full entitlement under the contract is achieved. ? Identify risks to the project, implementation of strategy for recover. ? Overview of Cash vs. Value for all projects It is essential that you have considerable experience of working within the rail industry on similar schemes, and must have a thorough understanding of EEC forms of contract. You will have very strong negotiating skills and IT skills, as well as a working knowledge of site programmes and recognise the commercial implications of change.
