Our client, a specialist contractor operating within the rail industry is seeking to employ a Rail Estimator to be based in their
South Yorkshireoffice
Your responsibilities will include the effective registration, control and administration of tender documentation. The preparation and management of tenders from receipt of documents through to delivery. The presentation of tenders to senior management at tender review meetings. Liaison with Supply Chain Manager with respect to placing of any major supplier or subcontractor enquiries. the technical and commercial appraisal of materials, plant and sub contract quotations, preparation of analytical estimates including the detailed appraisal of construction labour, plant, materials and temporary works.
The effective analysis and pricing of risks. The preparation of tender submission documentation. The preparation of estimating reports. Providing assistance to proposals and contract management functions. It is essential that you will possess a comprehensive contracting background with significant experience within estimating ideally within the rail/civil engineering industries. You will have a complete understanding of the construction process, and will be able to demonstrate involvement in bid winning. It is also essential that you will have the ability to coordinate a Bid Team when required, and you will have an analytical approach. A thorough understanding of estimating is essential, along with good IT skills.
A degree/HND in a relevant subject or equivalent would be preferred but is not essential.
