Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will provide assurance that technical designs produced are right first time and fully meet operational requirements. Main Activities: ? Increased assurance that designs are safe, serviceable and right first time. ? Designs can be constructed with the minimum impact on Journey Time Reliability and Network Operation ? Impart knowledge and expertise throughout design teams ? Ensure a consistent risk based approach to scheme delivery - ensuring all current standards and best practice are met ? Actively improve efficiency and effectiveness of scheme delivery ? Ensure external services procured during scheme delivery are suitably skilled and deliver an appropriate product. Key Responsibilities: ? Ensure appropriate competency of staff allocated to projects ? Review right first time risk registers and initiate immediate remedial actions as required. ? Ensure gateways and hold points in design process and procedures are appropriate and fully adhered to ? Ensure that design checks are appropriate and are being carried out in accordance with technical approval procedures ? Identify and implement ongoing continual design process improvement including measures of design delivery ? Establish and monitor efficient internal API measures to monitor right first time delivery. To be considered for this role you must have a recognised engineering or construction degree level qualification; or equivalent experience and have previous experience effectively managing and motivating a successful team.
