My Client is looking for a suitably qualified Traffic Engineer to join a busy traffic team at a London Borough. You will have a minimum of 2 years working in a Traffic Engineer's (or similar) role, preferably in a local government /transportation consultancy setting, with detailed knowledge of and experience in the inception, development and implementation of traffic management and road safety projects, including cycling schemes, traffic calming schemes and 20 mph zones.
The person will act primarily as the Council's Cycling Officer, and hence previous involvement in the London Cycle Network Plus (LCN+) and knowledge of the associated Cycle Route Inspection and Stakeholder Plan (CRISP) process would be useful.
The person must have excellent communication skills, as he/she will be required to prepare reports and letters, and will be required to communicate with customers in person, in writing and by telephone. The person must also be highly numerate. Experience of preparing documentation for and undertaking consultation exercises with the public would also be an advantage.
