Job Description
The purpose of the role is to plan, implement, control and manage single or multi-disciplined projects and contracts and meet client requirements in relation to the achievement of agreed cost and timing, safety, quality and value for money.
Key accountabilities of this role will be to:
Prepare, review and co-ordinate programmes and budgets and specify manpower, skills materials and plant, whilst administering construction works and ensuring delivery to business strategies.
Authorise proposal by subcontractors and other outside parties, including measurement of contractual variations and preparation of certificates for payment.
Prepare estimates for complex project work and establish staff and project financial and performance targets.
Supervise the preparation of drawings, Bills of Quantities, specifications and contract documentation.
Successful candidates must posses the following:
A degree or HND in civil engineering, plus 5 years experience of engineering projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of project planning and control of contracting out requirements.
Specialist knowledge of the railway, especially track engineering and a successful track record of managing projects.
