Job Description
Our client, a leading rail contractor is seeking to employ a Signalling and Telecommunications Engineer to enhance the technical capability of the company in the Signalling and Telecommunications fields.
This position can be based in either York, Derby or Croydon, and you will be responsible for providing technical support to various areas of the business, including Engineering Design, Operations and Tendering.
Your main responsibilities in this role will including:
o Acting as a Project Engineer on allocated schemes of work, undertaking internal and external technical investigations. o Providing S&T input to the tendering process o Providing technical support as a Signalling or Telecommunications consultant. o Acting as a technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve any technical issues. o Effectively maintaining S&T supplier relationships. o Attending networking meetings and meetings with external companies. o Carrying out risk assessments.
It is essential that you are educated to HNC/ONC level as a minimum (or equivalent) in an electrical engineering discipline and will have experience of working in a tendering, signalling design, installation, testing and commissioning environment, with an in-depth knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used.
Ideally you will hold a 6.8.105 IRSE license, be a corporate member of the IRSE with IEng or CEng and have skills in auditing, and business Management.
