Job Description
The candidate should previous transportation planning experience, ideally in an environment specialising in supporting private sector planning applications. The candidate should have been actively involved in the preparation or checking of a variety of documents, as listed below and needs to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills in addition to being able to organise the workload of others.
The candidate should have a thorough understanding of the planning process and relevant Government guidance such as PPG13, in addition to which they require the experience of negotiating with local authorities and developers on Section 106 agreements.
The candidate should also have a thorough knowledge of some of the variety of software used regularly within the transportation planning work, again as listed below.
·PICADY for priority junctions ·ARCADY for priority junctions ·LINSIG for stand-alone signals junctions ·TRANSYT for linked signals junctions and signalised roundabouts ·TRICS and TRAVl for trip rates analysis
It would be highly advantageous if the candidate was aware of the principles of traffic engineering and be familiar with the design criteria for priority junctions, roundabouts and signalised arrangements to outline design level.
