Our client is currently seeking a senior level Town Planner to work on challenging projects across the UK on a fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner with experience of talking to a range of clients to further develop this talent by managing their own portfolio. Previous practice in people management will be tested as you use your supervisory skills to ensure you give confidence to those employees with less exposure to the planning system. Your understanding of the British Town Planning system must be excellent for this role and due to the caseload RTPI membership is an essential component. Ideally you will have had an exposure to private consultancy work, although evidence of ability to develop business in another context would still be of interest. Excellent communication skills across all mediums are of course a pre-requisite of the role and a professional appearance will aid you in client consultations. The work covered by includes development plans, local authority work and conservation, rural and minerals and waste applications. Previous experience in these areas will therefore be of interest, as will exposure to a general range of planning disciplines This client is an established national company employing over 300 members of staff, mainly chartered surveyors and property consultants. They work largely in the rural and residential markets, although also touch upon commercial, minerals, building consultancy and have an expanding planning division.
