Job Description
Our Client, a medium sized dynamic Structural & Civil Engineering Consultancy is looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer at their BEDFORD Office.
You'll be offered work on a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects covering many different construction sectors, with an unlimited opportunity to progress within the company. Established in 1963 the practice employs over 70 staff in 3 UK offices. They have lots of structural design work across a wide range of sectors including education, commercial, leisure, rail and temporary structures.
You should be Chartered or Near Chartered and have relevant experience as a design engineer in an engineering consultancy or design office. Should you not be Chartered, our Client is more than willing to help you attain that status through continuous training and development.
You will have experience of structural design in a wide range of building materials using BS codes, including steel and reinforced concrete, and a working knowledge of suitable design software packages. Experience of sustainable construction methods would be beneficial but is not essential.
It is expected that you will be required to work on several projects at any one time with the ability to take jobs from inception to completion working under your own initiative. You'll be given the responsibility of managing a design team on these projects and may be required to at times mentor junior members of staff.
