Job Description
Senior Reservoir Engineers required for 160+ well development in Qatar.
Our client, an international oil company, is in the process of implementing a large scale Field Development Plan offshore Qatar. The project will comprise the drilling of an additional 160 production and injection wells over a 6 years period and more than doubling the oil production.
The activity level is high and as such the company is looking for Senior Petroleum / Reservoir Engineers to join the reservoir teams in the Operational Reservoir Engineering Section in the Petroleum Engineering Department.
The Senior Petroleum / Reservoir Engineer will be part of an international and expanding group of some 10 to 15 Reservoir / Petroleum Engineers, who are in close co-operation with colleagues from Geoscience, Drilling, Production and E&P.
Role Accountabilities; Actively take part in operational tasks comprising: reporting, well planning & completion, production allocation and forecasting, gas lift and water injection surveillance and optimization, evaluation of reservoir performance and reservoir management; Perform ad hoc studies to optimize procedures for and performances of wells and reservoirs; Perform ad hoc reservoir simulation studies (using either existing models or sector models) to review/optimize the current field development plan with the objective to improve performance and recovery both on short term and long term; Mentor more junior staff and promote knowledge sharing.
Candidates should be educated to a minimum of BSc / BEng level and have relevant reservoir and production engineering experience from within an operating oil company. Familiarisation with petroleum and reservoir engineering software is essential as is being fluent in both written and verbal English.
