My client is looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated planner with experience in planning for the development of retail and town centre-type uses, preferably with experience of, or an interest in, the preparation of quantitative retail capacity and impact assessments.
Their Newcastle's specialist Town Centres and Retail team provides advice throughout the north of England and Scotland to a wide range of clients include national retailers, asset managers and owners of retail parks / shopping centres, private developers and local planning authorities.
You will work on the preparation of town centre, retail and leisure studies, planning applications and appeals, site appraisals, planning strategies and development plan representations; and provide advice and guidance to clients throughout all stages of the planning process. You will also develop mentoring and management experience.
You will be:
o MRTPI and/or MRICS planning and development qualified o Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the planning system, with excellent communication, written and analytical skills and a working knowledge of issues and policy affecting planning for retail and other main town centre uses o Able to manage a demanding workload.
