Your objective for this role is delivering high quality coastal engineering solutions to clients in Victoria, Australia wide and overseas. You will manage the delivery of projects to meet quality, time and budgetary requirements and to meet or exceed client expectations
The main duties include, but are not limited to: ¢ Designing the structural layout for ports including; harbours, wharfs, piers and jetties. ¢ Providing technical leadership, support and management to junior maritime staff members in order to grow the business internally. ¢ Assisting in business development activities including; establishing key client relationships, business opportunities and marketing in order to sustain the workload and increase opportunities. ¢ Ongoing liaison with managers and subordinate staff ensuring all parties are kept informed of all relevant matters impacting and influencing projects. ¢ Working collaboratively with the Principal in establishing a strategic business plan to market and promote the business regionally. ¢ Undertaking overseas and interstate business trips with the Principal in order to represent your employer external clients. ¢ The role will include providing support and guidance to junior staff as well as general management duties. Education: You will have a relevant tertiary qualification, for example a Bachelor of Engineering. A Postgraduate qualification in a Marine related field is desirable but not essential Skills & Experience: Previous experience in civil structural design including; maritime structures and/or coastal modeling. Sound knowledge and experience in the provision of coastal engineering designs and modeling including wave analysis and/or sea defense design Good understanding of commercial practice in an engineering consultancy environment Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to liaise effectively with clients and staff of all levels
