Job Description
SENIOR ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST
Our client is an independant consultancy firm, with 4300 employees, operating worldwide and is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Geologist to work from their busy office in Cambridgeshire.
The Division: Our clients Geotechnical team are a group of highly qualified individuals with extensive experience, particularly in waters edge projects (maritime, coastal, estuarine and rivers). The team provide timely and cost effective guidance on projects of any type or size and are currently looking to expand across their network of UK offices.
Job description: They require a Senior Engineering Geologist to direct, carry out and check desk studies, geotechnical investigations and interpretations, geotechnical analysis and design and provide expert technical advice on the design of foundations and retaining walls, earth works and slopes. Key duties will include: - To liaise with clients - To organise and direct junior staff - To check and review the work of others in accordance with the Quality Management System - To manage projects both technically and financially as required - To develop and extend the technical capabilities of the Geotechnical Division - To advertise and publicise the work of the Geotechnical Division through technical publications and papers.
Qualifications and experience: - Chartered engineer or geologist with a minimum of 10 years experience as an Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer - An MSc or a PhD in soil mechanics or similar is desirable.
