Job Description
Reservoir Engineer required for Qatar Enhanced Oil Recovery.
Our client, an international oil company, requires a Reservoir Engineer to join the Enhanced Oil Recovery Team owing to increased activity in connection with the expansion project of their offshore Qatar Assets. With the expansion project, comprising more than 160 additional production and water injection wells during a 6-year period, oil production is expected to double, reaching a plateau level of 525,000 barrels/day.
The EOR Reservoir Engineer will be involved with the on-going EOR work leading core and phase behaviour laboratory projects ensuring high-quality data for further simulation screenings of the studied EOR processes. Writing development plans for the selected EOR processes and implementation of the plans in the field development will be part of the job.
Role Accountabilities; Applying reservoir engineering methods to identify EOR processes applicable to the field; Close co-operation with contractor laboratories and universities; Planning, execution, evaluation and surveillance of core and phase behaviour laboratory experiments; Construct new fit for purpose sector models and full field models of the studied EOR processes; Develop thermodynamic models for fluid systems; Enhance the use of the extensive SCAL and PVT databases in the field reservoir simulators; Training and coaching of less experienced staff.
Candidates should be educated to BSc / BEng level as a minimum with relevant EOR / reservoir engineering experience gained with an operating oil company environment. It is preferred that candidates have experience within one or more of the following EOR disciplines; miscible gas flooding, alkali-surfactant-polymer flooding, air injection and/or microbial flooding. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
